Students experience virtual weather conditions that are read on weather maps and be viewed in the simulation, real time (cyberspace!), thus providing a realistic training experience. Training with the FTD offers safe alternative than the real aircraft for flight instruction due to many maneuvers and test standards that are too dangerous to do in the real aircraft (ex. loss of an
engine on take off requires the student to react quickly on airspeed control and avoid the temptation of making a steep turn back to the runway)
